Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg also expressed backing for Sabula, acknowledging the worker’s right to voice his concerns to the president. The UAW further issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to protecting Sabula’s rights under the union contract and condemning any inappropriate behavior directed at employees, including from public officials.
